Description: A point dataset containing information about the Ministry of Environments Bathymetric Map information. Bathymetric Maps are maps detailing the underwater depths and contours of Saskatchewans Lakes. This information has been collected since the 1950's by crisscrossing lakes in a boat and using a hand line to determine depths. More modern methods involve using a cobonation GPS/Depth sounding device or hydroaccoustic technology. The intention of this dataset is to be an index to the information that exists and to provide some auxillary information about the data and where it might exist. In some special cases, old paper maps were scanned, georeferenced, digitized and modeled in 3-D.
