This polygonal dataset was developed in 2016 and includes serveral sensitive land types under varying degrees of protection. Particularly senitive lands have a 5 km buffer applied to further protect their environmental significance, they include: National Parks, Provincial Parks, Migratory Bird Sanctuaries, Important Bird Areas, Western Hemispheric Shorebird Reserve Network, Ecological Reserves, Last Mountain Lake, North and South Saskatchewan River, Frenchman River, Qu'Appelle River and Assiniboine River. Lands applied with no buffer include: Fish and Wildlife Development Fund Lands, Conservation Easement Lands, Wildlife Habitat Protection Lands, Sage Grouse Emergency Protection Order Area, Provincial Recreation Sites, Provincial Historic Sites/Parks, and Important Wildlife Habitat. The dataset was updated in 2017. |
